The given National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage was approved on 16 March 2015 by Director of the Republican Center for Folk Art. Currently, the List includes elements across all 5 domains. From among them:

Explanation:

Elements indicated with one asterisk (*) are those, which were included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Humanity of UNESCO.

Elements indicated with two asterisks (**) are those which were submitted for inclusion in the Representative List and are under consideration of UNESCO.

Apart from the above-mentioned there is also the List of ICH elements in need of urgent safeguarding. Currently it includes the following elements:

  • The art of Doston Narrarion;
  • Performances with Qobiz.

 

In the future it is planned to submit nomination files for the following ICH elements for inclusion in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Humanity:

  • Customs and Traditions associated with Beshik;
  • Khalfachilik (Khalfa Art);
  • Bakhshichilik (Bakhshi Art).

 

Also, in the upcoming years it is recommended to submit the following nomination documents for inclusion in the UNESCO Register of Best Safeguarding Practices:

  • “Mahalla as the Original Model of Safeguarding and Transmitting ICH-related knowledge and skills”.
